The Wandering Faqir

So it has been done to death and there are millions of similar blogs out there. I can’t really tell you how my blog is going to be any different but one thing is for sure it won’t be planned and there is a high likelihood of it containing loads of errors. What it will be is short and succinct which is down to me being lazy. For over a decade I have been cajoled, coaxed and nagged to diarise my exploits. As I identify myself to be an ambivert the thought of sharing my life experiences with the world (or at least giving the world access to it; not that I expect many people to read this 😛 ) I was hesitant at starting a blog.  In a moment of impetuous (a very common occurrence in my life as you will find out in my blogs) I decided today is the day when I give this a try.

I am very much dictated by the ‘power of now’ and you will see most of my life decisions big or small are made in the spur of the moment. Having worked as a sports journalist for a few years I decided to switch careers and country and started working in the third sector.  It came as a big surprise to most people but I knew I needed to look for something meaningful to do with my life. It was a big risk and an equally big change (Perhaps I will write about it in future blogs). I recently became a certified teacher of English as a second language so perhaps a new career as a teacher awaits once I decide to make the switch.

As much as my family is dysfunctional; they are one of the things I love most in my life; oh well most of them if not necessarily all of them 😉 The other thing I love is to TRAVEL. So rest be assured most my blogs will be about my wanders and perhaps some reflective blogs on my experience and thoughts on intersectional feminism, leftist agenda, neoliberalism and religion. To be very honest it will be a bit about everything including my obsession with Ancient Alien Theory.

P.S. Faqir is a person who is self-sufficient and only possesses the spiritual need for God.

I have not really vowed to poverty but definitely don’t own any worldly material possessions. If anything I am neck deep buried in student loan! So I guess the poverty I am in is thanks to the capitalist society we live in. I am always termed as irresponsible especially with my finance; spending the money I don’t have. I am referred to as Faqir by most people close to me (I know what you thinking who needs enemies right). Thus I felt it’s only apt that my blog makes a reference to it.
